The FV Straight Shooter, currently fishing in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery, is a serious fishing platform with excellent sea-going capability, the ability to set and haul up-to 3,000 Hooks per day and capacity to handle large volumes of sashimi grade pelagic fish whilst providing a safe and covered work environment for the Skipper and crew. The vessel is available as a turn-key pelagic longline operation with all fishing gear included or with the fishing gear removed ready for Trap Fishing or a range of commercial marine applications.
The vessels carrying capacity is a major feature with 6 x refrigerated brine tanks holding 9,600 L per tank, a 14 Tonne capacity fish room and 6 Tonne capacity bait freezer. The design and lay-out of the Vessel makes for a highly functional operation with easy access to all the plant and equipment and modern spacious facilities for the crew. The Vessel is built for high-volume fishing applications and meets all the requirements for longlining Southern Bluefin Tuna in the Southern Ocean over a 12 month fishing plan.
