Albacore is an undervalued and underutilised species in the ETBF despite there being a sigfnificant resource located in the Coral Sea in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery. The sale of this package of 115,000 Kg of Albacore Quota and an ETBF Longline SFR provides an excellent stepping stone into the fishery and value for money compared to the cost of accessing other Commonwealth and State Fisheries.
