The FV Southern Star is currently configured as an Aquaculture support vessel servicing the Tuna Farming Industry in Port Lincoln, South Australia. The vessel has an allowable deck-load of 14,000 Kg and with the Palfinger PK13002 deck crane, heavy duty port side mounted winch and large aft deck area, the vessel is set-up for carrying pallets of feed to and from the farm-site, handling and setting at-sea cage anchoring systems and carrying heavy duty materials and equipment.
The Vessel has under-deck storage, a low-hours CAT 3406, Cummins 4BT auxiliary and genset, and presents as a workhorse ready for at-sea cage farming / aquaculture applications, conversion back to commercial fishing or island-trading.
The vessel is in AMSA 3C Survey (Crew x 4) with the next shaft survey due in September 2029 and comes with an approved Stability Book.
