The FV Makybe BJ is a 34m Dual Purpose Fishing Vessel with an operating history in the Australian Southern Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna and Small-Pelagic Fisheries. The vessel has just completed an AMSA 10 yearly survey as part of her January 2026 slipping. Recent upgrades for the Vessel includes:
- New shaft, stern seals and bearings
- Fully serviced rudder with new pintle and upper bearings
- Hull Thickness Test completed (available upon request)
- Fuel Tanks Inspected
- Fresh anti-foul and spot blast and paint above the waterline
- Brine tanks painted and in excellent condition’
- New Exhaust fans for engine room
- New Masson Gearbox (installed in February 2024)
The vessels machinery, refrigeration and fishing equipment is high-calibre and fit for purpose. Driven by a 1000 HP Cummins KTA 50 and fitted with a Triplex Net Handling and Hauling System, the fishing system is well-proven and efficient. The vessels electronics system compliments the package. The crew accommodation and facilities support extended voyages in offshore conditions.
